According to a report, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s mansion in California was invaded two times by the same intruder over the holidays.
At the $14.65 million property in Montecito, the 37-year-old Nickolas Brooks was caught trespassing on December 24, 2020. Officers with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office did not charge him and gave him a warning, TMZ reported.
However, two days later, the man appeared at the home again and was then later arrested and charged with one count of misdemeanor trespassing.
Sources say that the man had driven from Ohio to the home in California. Officials say it is unclear why the 37-year-old showed up at the house and if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were home.
This new development comes after Markle and Prince Harry sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
While speaking to Oprah, Prince Harry also said that his father, Prince Charles, did not answer calls from him and his wife leading up to their stepping down from royal duties.
In the interview, Prince Harry explained how Buckingham Palace repealed their security when they stepped down as senior royals and moved to California.
Harry said he and Markle did not “blindside” the royal family with their decision.
The interview was one of Markle’s most direct instances of addressing tension with the royal family after she and Prince Harry severed their institutional ties with the crown.
