It wouldn’t fly in a court of law, but fans are pretty excited that, seemingly for the first time in a long time, Pete Davidson admitted he has a "girlfriend."
“People (The TV Show)” tracked down the “Saturday Night Live” star to chat about his upcoming Super Bowl commercial. But as his comments extended into talking about his personal life and its increasing media spotlight, Davidson said the previously quiet part a little louder.
"I don't have Instagram or Twitter or any of that stuff,” said the 28-year old funnyman. “So, most of my daily life is getting into cars and showing up to a set. Or, if I'm off, I just either hang with my friends or chill with my girlfriend inside. So I don't do much."
And with that off-handed remark, the internet stepped on its gas pedal hard.
Ever since Kim Kardashian, 41, hosted "SNL" back in October 2021, stories and photos of her and Davidson out and about at restaurants and other get-togethers have consistently surfaced, leading many fans to conclude the two are an item.
And today’s verbal peek inside Davidson’s mind has confirmed it for many fans.
So while rumors swirl and Kardashian’s prolonged post-divorce squabbles with Kanye West continue, Davidson, at least outwardly, has retained his chill attitude. "Once in a while, someone will scream something at you, or it might be hard to get Dunkin' Donuts," Davidson added in the People interview. "But other than that, it's pretty fine."
At this point, he may as well just say her name, but we’re starting to think Davidson is much more cunning than his recurring "SNL" character Chad seems. These kind of fun obfuscations certainly keep the rumor mill fueled and running, while Davidson continues expanding his busy career.
And his obvious-to-everyone else “girlfriend” seems to be going right along with the plan.
As Entertainment Tonight reported, last month Davidson convened a dinner with Kim and Khloe Kardashian “followed by a fun escape room experience,” but noted that the trio was “super low-key” about it all.
