The Rock is getting ready to play Superman’s best friend.
Dwayne Johnson is set to voice the character of Krypto the Super-Dog in the upcoming animated film “DC League of Super-Pets,” according to Variety.
The movie will center around the Man of Steel’s canine, who joins forces with a flying feline and other animals to stop crime while the two-legged super hero is out of town, the outlet noted.
While other casting has not been announced, Warner Bros. is aiming to fill out the roster with the vocal abilities of other A-list stars.
In addition to lending his voice, Johnson will also produce alongside ex-wife and business partner Dany Garcia.
In 2005, the Cartoon Network launched the animated series "Krypto the Superdog," which aired for two seasons.
“DC’s League of Super-Pets” is set to his theaters on May 20, 2022.
Meanwhile, the 49-year-old is currently working on another film in the DC Universe, “Black Adam.” Johnson is portraying the titular super-villain.
While already in tremendous shape, the former WWE star shared a photo getting his physique even more jacked for the role during a training sesssion on Friday.
Standing tall with his bulging muscles spilling out of his tank top, Johnson flashed an intense look on his face while inside a tented gym.
“It’s an outlaw mornin’,” he captioned the pic. “Got after it and burned it on both ends 🔥It’s Friday - finish your week strong.”
Production on “Black Adam” began in April after being delayed due to the COVID pandemic.
Initially set to be released in December 2021, “Black Adam” is now scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 29, 2022.
