Gisele Bündchen is opening up about the dissolution of her high-profile marriage.
In a new Vanity Fair cover story the supermodel spoke about the split from former NFL star quarterback Tom Brady saying “it’s like a death and a rebirth.”
“It’s tough because you imagine you life was going to be a certain way, and you did everything you could, you know?” Bündchen told the magazine.
The cover star and Brady were married for 13 years. She posted on Instagram following their divorce announcement stating things were finalized “amicably.”
Brady, is currently retired from the NFL but also un-retired before the 2022 season. Vanity Fair asked Bündchen if that decision played a role in the breakup.
“What’s been said is one piece of a much bigger puzzle. It’s not so black and white,” she answered.
“When I was 26-years-old and he was 29-years-old, we met, we wanted a family, we wanted things together. As time goes by, we realize that we just want different things, and now we have a choice to make,” she added.
The pair were married in 2009 and have two kids together: son Benjamin, 13, and daughter Vivian, 10.
