A short clip for “Would You Kill for Me? The Mary Bailey Story” started making rounds on social media recently (the movie aired in October on Lifetime) because fans couldn’t believe Melissa Joan Hart played a grandmother.

Hart took to her Instagram to respond to her fans, writing, “While I’m proud of my performance in my most recent movie #WouldYouKillForMe, I couldn’t be more flattered that people don’t think of me as a grandmother (no matter how possible it is at the age of 47).”

Hart went on, “It’s also refreshing to go viral for my work and not something controversial. I guess now Clarissa can Explain AARP or play the Middle-Aged Witch.”

The actor referencing her star-making roles in “Clarissa Explains It All” and “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.”

Hart is not a grandmother in reality, but she is mother to three sons: Mason, 17, Braydon, 15, and Tucker, 11. She has been married to Mark Wilkerson for 20 years.
