Sharing his intentions on social media, alongside some chic snapshots of him sipping on cognac and smoking a cigar, 50 expressed, “My new idea is so big, I don’t have time to be distracted I’m practicing abstinence, I have been meditating and focusing on my goals. I hope this New Year helps you excel to the next level.” Tagging his brands Branson Cognac and Le Chemin du Roi Champagne.
While 50 didn’t specify exactly what this “new,” “big” idea was, he already began 2024 with major plans on the film and TV side of things, having signed a production deal with Fox last year and recently developing his own film and TV studio.
Adding to his already impressive list of television series including three Power spin-offs and BMF, 50 is currently working on one based on Eminem’s 8 Mile, which he has said will be “just as big as the feature film.”
Also in development is an unscripted TV series about Margarito and Pedro Flores, twin brothers from Chicago who became “the most prolific drug dealers in the city’s history,” before cooperating with the DEA to bring down Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.
Other projects in the works include a show called Vice City which “follows three friends, and former soldiers, who return to their home city of Miami in the mid ’80s after being dishonorably discharged from the military for their involvement in the Iran Contra scandal.”
As well as a boxing drama titled Fightland, about a “retired disgraced world champion fighter drawn into the corrupt underbelly of the sport after the disappearance of his childhood best friend and training partner.”
Then on the music side, 2024 could be the year 50 hops back into the Rap game. While nothing is actually confirmed, he did tell Big Boy during an interview last year that he had plans to reunite with Dr. Dre for a new project.
So whether his big idea is something new or just a collection of all of the above, 50 seems determined to stay focused. Meaning, the “Candy Shop” is closed until further notice.
