Sunday, Aug 1, was the first day of World Breastfeeding Week. Attempting to normalize the human bodily function, many artists have worked to share photos of the natural side of being a mother.
Throughout the years, artists and actresses like Gwen Stefani, Cardi B, Hilary Duff, and more have been candid about their motherhood experiences. They have shared photos of themselves breastfeeding, in an attempt to rid the beautiful and natural function of any shameful stigmas.

Hilary Duff
Sharing one "FOR THE LADIES," Duff spoke about her thoughts on breastfeeding as a working mother. "I am a working mom of two. My goal was to get my little girl to six months and then decide if I (and her of course) wanted to keep going. Let me tell you. Pumping at work sucks. I had zero down time and am usually pumping in a hair and make up trailer while four hands work to get me ready for the next scene with lots of other people around. Even if I had the luxury to be in my own room, it’s not even considered a “break” because you have to sit upright for the milk to flow into the bottles! Plus you are having your damn nipples tugged at by an aggressive machine that makes an annoying sound, that echoes through your head day and night (I swear that machine and I had many conversations at midnight and 3 am)! Ttttthen having to find someplace to sterilize bottles and keep your milk cold (ok I’m done with that rant lol)!"

While in "#Switzerland!!!!!" Gwen stopped to breastfeed her baby at the time. She took a moment to pause and share the moment on Instagram.
Emily Ratajkowski
Announcing the birth of her first child, Ratajkowski shared an image of herself breastfeeding her newborn. In the caption she announces, "Sylvester Apollo Bear has joined us earth side. Sly arrived 3/8/21 on the most surreal, beautiful, and love-filled morning of my life."
Cardi B
Now expecting her second child, the rapper will surely let us in on new baby content. When Cardi was breastfeeding her daughter Kulture, she shared this post, writing, "I got a baby I need some money yea I need cheese for my egg!!!" Plus in her music video for "Money" Cardi includes shots of herself breastfeeding.
Shay Mitchell
Keeping things punny, while also advocating for the normalization of breastfeeding, Shay added the line, "Breast friends," to her post.
