The band traveled to Ahmedabad, Gujarat where they played two nights at Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and 26 for a total of 223,000 fans. That total makes the group the new record-holders for the largest-ever stadium shows of the 21st century.

With 111,581 fans in attendance at the first show and 111,989 at the second, both beat out previous record-holder, George Strait, who held the title after playing for 110,905 fans at Kyle Field at Texas A&M in June 2024.

According to Live Nation, the shows over the weekend were the group’s first ever in India, making the accomplishment even more memorable.

It’s all been part of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour which has sold out stadiums in five continents since it kicked off in March 2022. Already being recognized for selling more tickets than any other tour in history with 10.3 million as of December 2024, the band isn’t done yet.

The trek will pick back up in April 2025 with shows in Hong Kong, China and Seoul before bringing it back to North America. As of now, the tour set to wrap with 10 shows at London’s Wembley Stadium.
