Sorry Barbz, but if were hoping to hear some “Starships” during Nicki Minaj’s upcoming tour, you’ll be sadly disappointed. That said, if you’re over the Hip-Pop track, Nicki’s right there with you.

During her New Year’s Eve club performance at E11EVEN in Miami, Nicki’s 2012 hit single “Starships” began to play. Minaj managed to gets a few lines into the opening verse of the song before she abruptly decided to stop.
In a fan caught video of the moment, Nicki is seen waving her hand, signaling for the DJ to stop the track, saying, “Hold on. Psych, psych, psych, psych— I don’t perform that song no more, y’all. I don’t like it, what y’all want me to do? Stupid song.” She then immediately launched into “Super Bass,” appeasing the crowd.
This shouldn’t come as too much of a shock, as Minaj has expressed her distaste for the track in the past. “I hate ‘Starships,’ I mean ew, ‘Starships?’” she admitted back in 2020. "I’m like, ‘Why did I do that?’ I really think that every time I hear it.”
Nicki is set to bring her international Pink Friday 2 World Tour to 37 cities between March and June. And while we don’t know what to expect, one thing's for sure, “Starships” definitely won’t be on the setlist.
While Starships were meant to fly, Nicki won’t do it one more time
