Opening up about a particular, rather emotional, "very personal" track off her fourth studio album, 30, which she wrote for her son, Adele admitted it isn’t lost on her, that at certain times in his life, it might not be his favorite.

Of course we’re talking about the album’s third track titled "My Little Love", which features recorded conversations between her and her 9-year-old son Angelo. Offering a behind-the-scenes listen of her explaining her split from his father, Simon Konecki, who at the time was just 6 years old.

And while the rest of the word will surely bust out the tissues and sob along to it’s maudlin relatability or general melancholy vibes, during her appearance on q with Tom Power, Adele admitted she already knew that most likely won’t be the case for Angelo, yet she had to keep on the tracklist.

"He'll probably go through stages of hating it when he's a teenager…" she joked. "But it was an important part of the puzzle I was trying to figure out of my life — not the album — so I had to include it."

Recalling the conversations in the song as "intense," Adele explained to Tom that she wanted "to be clear with him and just be honest with him." Being completely upfront, explaining that she didn't know how to navigate life as a single mom.

"Imagine hearing that as a 6-year-old. 'What do you mean you don't know what you're doing?' You panic, and your whole world would implode," she said with a chuckle. However, Adele knew that even if she hand’t said the words allowed she knew, "I couldn't hide from him. He could see me even clearer if I tried to hide from him."

As for the creative process. Adele shared that making the song was "definitely a big breakthrough" both emotionally and musically. And that through working on it, "it sorted out some of the clutter that was going on in my ability to talk about how I was feeling."
