It takes a lot to stop Dropkick Murphys from playing on St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The band is synonymous with the holiday, with their brand of Celtic Punk Rock providing the perfect part of any real St. Pat’s party. But this weekend, the annual celebration was set aside, as coronavirus concerns continue to clear the calendar of everyone, in hopes of getting the epidemic under control.

“We hope you and your families are doing well during this trying time… For the first time in 24 years, we are not playing on St. Patrick’s Day weekend,” the band shared in a statement. “The current world situation is the ONLY thing that would ever stop us from doing so.”

But fear not, they have a plan. As people around the world are being asked to self-quarantine and not to gather in large crowds, Dropkick Murphys are ready to bring the show to you. The band will be streaming up from Boston this time around, offering a live webcast on Tuesday March 17 at 7PM ET / 4PM PT.

The band plans to play a full concert, available to anyone in the world on their Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube page.

“We’re excited to entertain you on St. Patrick’s Day – live from Boston,” they continued. “Spread the word! The show must go on!”

As cities continue to cancel events and bad news continue to flood our feed, Dropkick Murphys prevail, finding a way to bring you good cheer this St. Patrick’s Day.
