Every college football team in the country is joined by their school’s marching band, but not every band can manage to put on a show equally as impressive as the game happening on the field.
However, the Ohio State marching band did just that last weekend with a special performance honoring the band Rush. Video of the performance quickly went viral and even left the surviving members of the band "speechless.”
With Saturday’s Ohio State vs Maryland game quickly becoming a blowout by halftime, the school’s band knew they had to do something special to keep the fans entertained.
To do so they performed their “The Music of Rush” show featuring songs such as ‘Tom Sawyer,’ ‘Red Barchetta,’ and ‘Fly by Night.’ The band even moved together to spell out "2112" and "YYZ” during the show.
The performance even got the approval of Rush's Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, who retweeted the video saying they're "speechless." Fans of the band were equally impressed, with many wishing their own schools would attempt similar performances. Now we'll have to wait and see which iconic band they honor next.
