Well, incase you didn’t already know, Pink Floyd's David Gilmour and Roger Waters don’t like each other… at all. And with this latest development, it’s looking like they never will again.

This week, the decades-long feud between the iconic rock band’s dueling leaders, took a rather deeply personal and public turn when Gilmour’s wife, novelist Polly Samson, took to Twitter to condemn Waters as a “misogynistic, antisemitic Putin apologist”….amongst several other things, which David agreed to be “demonstrably true.”
“Sadly @rogerwaters you are antisemitic to your rotten core,” Samson tweeted. “Also a Putin apologist and a lying, thieving, hypocritical, tax-avoiding, lip-synching, misogynistic, sick-with-envy, megalomaniac. Enough of your nonsense.”
Gilmour, who soon after shared his wife’s tweet, added some succinct words of his own, writing, “Every word demonstrably true.”
While it’s not directly clear what specifically prompted the message, it may have something to do with an interview Waters did with Germany’s Berliner Zeitung newspaper in which he said he stood by comments comparing modern Israel to Nazi Germany for its treatment of Palestinians, accused the Israelis of genocide and defended his boycott of the nation. If you should find yourself interested, you can read Waters’ full interview here.
Waters, who quit Pink Floyd nearly 40 years ago, which is when his feud with Gilmour started, has long been outspoken in his beliefs surrounding the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Even calling President Joe Biden a “war criminal” by supplying arms to Ukraine and, in his mind, “fueling” its war with Russia. And also wrote that the “Israel lobby” is trying to silence him via a “despicable smear campaign” on his website, all the while insisting he’s not antisemitic.
In response to Samson’s tweet, Roger also took to Twitter, well someone else did for him, calling her comments “incendiary and wildly inaccurate,” and implied he was considering legal action.
