Rush frontman and bassist Geddy Lee began his My Effin' Life book tour this week at New York City’s Beacon Theater in celebration of the release of his all-new memoir, out now.

Lee took the stage in NYC during opening night armed to the teeth with stories from his childhood, his tenure with Canadian Rock icons Rush, and his lifelong friendship with bandmates Alex Lifeson and late drummer Neil Peart, also joined by special guest interviewer, Paul Rudd.
At one point during the once-in-a-lifetime event, Lee spoke about the last time he saw Peart, who passed in January of 2020 after battling brain cancer. Lee says that during the final months of his life, Neil “would listen to a different Rush album... analyzing it and listening to something he hadn't heard sometimes since we'd made it.”
Geddy continued, visibly overtaken with emotion, “By the time that he sadly passed, he had listened to pretty much all the work we had done as a band. And the last time I saw him, he wanted to tell me how proud he was of the music we have done together. Some of this stuff is hard to talk about, and it just blew me away that, in that moment.”
Lee adds Peart, "went on to talk about these songs and what they meant to him and he thought it was very important for me to know that our life as a rhythm section together was important to him. So, I thought that was beautiful."
