Country artists Carly Pearce and Lindsay Ell have both been in the news for their own very public breakups over the last few years - Ell with Country broadcaster Bobby Bones and Pearce with fellow artist Michael Ray.
While both have had to navigate their way through heartbreak for all the world to see, they admit at least one good thing came out of it… their friendship.
“I love Carly, she’s such a sweetheart. I’m really grateful for quarantine actually, for the fact that it brought us closer.” Ell said during a Q&A on Twitch’s Country Now Live Series. “Don’t all humans bond when they’re navigating through breakups?” She continued, “I have a new best friend.”
Carly and Lindsay aren’t the only ones enjoying a new friendship. Ell revealed their dogs June and Hendrix absolutely love each other and enjoy “puppy zoomies” together.
“I’ll go over to Carly’s house and they’ll just like run circles around the coffee table,” she shared. “I’m just like ‘don’t you guys ever get tired?’ They’re crazy.”
Ell went on to share how similar they are, both enjoying a healthy lifestyle and their obsession with music. It’s no doubt the two powerhouses also process emotions similarly since they both channeled their heartbreak as the inspiration for their latest albums.
Ell processed through the seven stages for grief with her album, heart theory, while Pearce reflected on all that she’s been through in life and love by the age of 29 with her collection, 29.
In a recent post to Instagram, Pearce teased fans saying she “wasn’t entirely finished” writing her 29 chapter, leading fans to believe new music isn’t far away.
