LISTEN NOW: Dylan Scott shares the inside scoop on Luke Bryan’s 47th birthday
Luke Bryan celebrated his 47th birthday over the weekend at Chicago’s Windy City Smokeout and Dylan Scott gave us the scoop on exactly what it was like.
“Luke had a little birthday celebration last night,” he told Audacy’s Rob + Holly the next day at Faster Horses Festival. “There was a lot of people outside the bus, inside the bus, it was just a blur.”
Scott continued on to share he didn’t feel he fit in with the high-dollar crowd, but was amused by what they all might do for a living. “There’s a lot of people that are very rich,” he laughed while explaining the atmosphere. “Got a lot of money and they’re just all hanging out and you’re lookin’ around going, ‘Who are these people? ‘Cause I’m not rich and I shouldn’t be here.’”
He continued, “I felt like, ‘Man, who is this guy, who is this girl? What do you do??’ I just know I’m not there and it sucks,” he laughed.
Dylan might have some catching up to do, but he could be on his way to “Luke Bryan status” with his new song, “This Town’s Been Too Good To Us.”
“It’s about my hometown, where I grew up,” he said of the new release. “I love the song and I wanted to put it out and it’s crazy what it’s doin’ right now. I’ve never had a song do that before…. I’m livin’ the dream right now.”
The lyrics aren’t the only thing that pay tribute to Scott’s roots — he also included family and friends in the music video to give it that extra down-home feel.
“So, the younger me in the video is actually my nephew and all his buddies,” Dylan told US 99’s Scotty Kay at the Windy City Smokeout. “Some of the other guys are my buddies.”

“It’s cool. It’s a little love song to my hometown. I love where I grew up, I love the people where I grew up and if I can write or sing an ode to those guys then that’s what I’m gonna do.”
The new song is available now. Hear more from Dylan during his time at Faster Horses and Windy City Smokeout by checking out his interviews above.
