The couple took to Instagram to share some of their favorite memories from the party including an adorable moment Hayes reached out to pet a goat and tried to communicate saying, “baaa.”
"My baby boy is 2," Morris captioned the clips from the fun-filled day.
The couple has been hard at work planning the gathering and Hurd shared his excitement for the farm-themed birthday with Audacy’s Josh, Rachael and Grunwald ahead of the ACM Awards two weeks ago.
“He’s having a petting zoo this year,” Hurd shared with excitement. “[There’s] going to be pigs and alpacas… goats. It’s going to be awesome! He loves animals.”
Fitting that he’s an animal lover as Maren also shared details about a new song to be included on her upcoming album, Humble Quest, that she wrote the day she found out she was pregnant called, “Hummingbird.”
“There’s a song on my record called ‘Hummingbird’ and it’s about my son Hayes,” she shared. “It’s a special one to me because I wrote it the day that I found out I was pregnant.”
She continued, “It’s going to be a tear-jerker — if I can even sing it live. Just being able to write something the day you find out you get to meet this person — it was just crazy timing.”
Ahead of the the album’s release, coming March 25, Morris reflected on a shoot she did with Playboy writing, “Before I go into the next album era, I did @playboy in 2019 and got a lot of hate at the time, but I’m the proudest that I showed country female sexuality in its realist form here.”
She continued, “We are nuanced, we are messy and stretch-marked in the most beautiful way. Don’t sleep on us. We tell your down home stories in the most unflinching, gorgeous lane.”
While a number of haters tried to bring her down, Morris received several words of encouragement from some powerful women in Country music.
“I adore this photo! You look stunning,” shared Leann Rimes. “The ones talking s*** are only DYING to let this side of themselves out. Expression, not repression.”
Morganne Stapleton wrote, “Your light can’t be dimmed!!!! I love you so freakin’ much!!”
Maren’s new album, Humble Quest, will be available beginning March 25.
