In 2001, eight-year-old Daniela Agostino attended Shania Twain’s live show with a sign asking to join the mega star on stage to sing. Little did she know it would lead to being called on stage twice, 22 years apart.
During a recent show on Shania’s current tour, the Country star surprised Agostino, who was in the crowd, by bringing her on stage again to relive their special moment that changed the course of Daniela’s life forever.
“It was the biggest shock of my life,” Agostino told CBS News of the moment Shania called her on stage for a second time. “I couldn’t believe it was happening again. I had no idea it was going to happen. When she was like, ‘Yes! Come on stage,’ I was like, ‘Wait, what?’”
Despite her disbelief, an emotional Daniela climbed on stage with Shania yet again and expressed how much Shania inspired her. “That [moment] changed my life, I need you to know that,” she shared on stage.
Daniela has gone on to become a professional Opera singer and says the courage and inspiration she gained while singing on stage with Shania at the age of eight had a big part in it.
“I don’t know where I got the guts from at eight years old to make a sign that said like, ‘pick me to sing,’” she laughed.
