Yesi Ortiz is a Mexican American is an LA. radio host and small business owner. Her journey began in 2003, 12 of those years she helped in developing new artists via her iconic New @ 2 feature on LA’s Hip Hop station, Power 106. Her early years in radio began at a hip hop station in Las Vegas, a bilingual Eng/Span station in Tijuana Mex & a pop station in San Diego. Through the years, she produced a docu-series for the STLYE Network called ‘Single w/7’, following her journey as she raised & adopted her sister’s 7 children. She co-hosted a television show called “The Collective Powered by Vevo,” produced by Jennifer Lopez. Her talents brought her to be casted in “VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Hollywood Season 1,” CBS “The Talk” as a Top Talker, among many others television series in Spanish television, including the fame Univision show, 'Sabado Gigante'. Yesi hosted digital spaces w/ activist, journalist, & celebrities. Her most memorable with, CNN Political commentator Angela Rye, Actor Kendrick Sampson & musical guest, Aloe Blacc titled The People’s Assembly. Yesi is a co-founder of L.I.M.A COALITION (Latinos in Media & Arts) working to equalize Latino talent & recognition of the arts in the media industry. She produced a short-lived podcast w/ her husband, licensed psychologist, Dr. Milo Dodson titled MENTAL HEALTH IS R.E.A.L. (Reflecting Empathy and Love). De-stigmatizing Mental Health in black and brown communities. A proud co-founder of the mini-concert series in South L.A. called The Rehearsal, The L.A. Times called, “LA’s answer to Tiny Desk is Hiding inside Mercado La Paloma”. Featured in KTLA newletter and KCRW 89.9-FM. The Rehearsal builds a true audience and uplifts new artist breaking in the scene, while live-streaming on YouTube. Recognized by Congresswoman, Sydney Kamlager-Dove for their achievement in building unity and joy in trying times. Yesi continues to support her community by volunteering her time with numerous local non-profit organizations and is an active board member with the Weingart East L.A. YMCA in Boyle Heights. She has a deep appreciation for travel, as an explorer rather than a tourist. Her journeys span destinations like the Seychelles, Cook Islands, Iceland, Palau, and many parts of Europe, often powered by a shared love of credit card points.
