Jerry Remy has been away from NESN's Red Sox broadcasts and away from Fenway Park since taking a leave of absence on Aug. 4 to undergo lung cancer treatment.
He made an emotional return to Fenway Tuesday night, taking the field to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Red Sox took on the Yankees in the American League Wild Card Game.
Needless to say, Boston fans were thrilled to see the beloved "RemDawg," and let him know it with a loud ovation.
Remy, who was driven to the infield on a cart, proceeded to deliver his pitch to NESN broadcast partner Dennis Eckersley. Watch it below:
