Jonathan Papelbon returned to Fenway for the first time since his playing days, throwing out the first pitch prior to Game 3 of the American League Championship Series.

As would one expect, the former Red Sox closer executed the offering to catcher Kevin Plawecki with great panache (and at 91 mph, according to the scoreboard).

Papelbon retired from Major League Baseball after pitching for the Nationals in the 2016 season. He left the Red Sox following 2011, signing a four-year free agent deal with the Phllies.
