Jon Lester came really, really close to perfection on the baseball field in 2008, when he twirled a nine-strikeout, two-walk no-hitter. But while he's never achieved perfection on the baseball diamond — at least not yet — I think he got there in the real estate game.
On Monday, Lester and his wife, Farrah, listed their incredible Chicago mansion in the Graceland West neighborhood for $6 million (via Bob Goldsborough of the Chicago Tribune). They'll make quite a nice profit, should a sale come at that price, considering they purchased the residence at $3.8 million back in 2015. But they'll also be losing an incredible property as part of the natural cycle of a baseball player moving from city to city. Lester joined the Washington Nationals during the offseason prior to the 2021 campaign, marking an end to the previous stretch of his career as a Chicago Cub.
According to the listing, the five-bed, five-and-a-half-bath home measures 7,000 square feet and features a list of luxurious amenities, including:
— ...large living room, sitting room, family room & gourmet kitchen with butler's pantry...
— ...nearly 5,000 SqFt side yard along with the truly massive finished roof deck above the garage, in addition to the private roof deck with irrigated planters and outdoor shower...
— Finished lower level with rich wood paneling, fireplace, bar and state of the art wine cellar.
— 4-stop elevator to all floors including rooftop level
