Ben Simmons jerseys spotted on the clearance rack at Philly airport

Now that Ben Simmons has made it clear that he doesn’t want to be a Sixer, fans in Philadelphia seem to be done with the point guard too as a photo emerged on Twitter showing his jerseys being displayed on the clearance rack at the Philadelphia airport, via Brandon Hudson of NBC Philadelphia.

In the picture, Simmons’ jersey is displayed right next to Carson Wentz’s old Eagles jersey with both currently going for 50% off the original price. One Twitter user made a snarky remark saying Simmons' jersey discount is 'higher than his free-throw percentage:

This should be further vindication that it’s just a matter of time until Simmons is traded after demanding one from the Sixers and plans to hold out of training camp until the organization does so.

Simmons, who made another All-Star team and helped the Sixers to the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference last season, had an awful second round series in the playoffs that was defined by his poor free throw shooting and his unwillingness to shoot in the fourth quarter. This contributed to the Sixers being upset by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round of the playoffs.

Before the 76ers report to training camp next week, Rivers appeared on MSNBC to promote his new podcast, and during the interview, host Willie Geist asked Doc about Simmons’ trade demand. Rivers said the team is trying to convince Simmons to stay in Philadelphia, but they’re having a hard time changing his mind. Rivers then made a quip tied to the political world.

“There’s times that I think we’re getting through,” Rivers acknowledged. “And there’s times that I think that I’m talking to people who still believe Trump won the election. So, I’m not sure, but I’m going to keep trying.”

For any Sixers fan that believes Simmons will still be on the team this upcoming season, you can show your support by getting a jersey for half off the original price.
