Indianapolis to host entirety of March Madness in bubble setting: report

The 2021 NCAA men's basketball tournament will reportedly be staged in a bubble in the city of Indianapolis.

The NCAA and the city were set to announce the agreement on Monday, according to WISH-TV in Indianapolis.

Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis was already previously scheduled to host this year's Final Four, in early April. Indianapolis has been the site of several Final Fours over the years, most recently in 2015.

The plan is based on a similar strategy implemented by the NBA last summer, the report said, when the league finished its regular season and playoffs in a quarantined campus at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, due to the coronavirus crisis.

The NCAA announced late last year that it was considering a bubble-like postseason scenario.

Last year's tournament was called off in the early months of the global pandemic.
