DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly zeroing in on hiring both a new GM and a head coach, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Tim MacMahon.

While the name of the GM was not revealed in the report, the Mavs lead head coaching candidate appears to be former Mavs point guard and Los Angeles Lakers assistant, Jason Kidd.

Kidd, who has previous head coaching experience with the Bucks and Nets, has also reportedly been highly endorsed by both the new GM candidate, as well as new special advisor, Dirk Nowitzki.

Kidd has been connected to the job since the exit of Rick Carlisle earlier this week, while Vice President of Basketball Operations Michael Finley has been the most talked about candidate for the GM job thus far.

Kidd previously played for the Mavs in two separate stints, including helping to lead Dallas to their first and only NBA title in 2011.
