Rockets reportedly looking to trade up for No. 1 pick in NBA draft

The Houston Rockets are reportedly interested in a potential blockbuster swap that could shake up the top of the upcoming NBA draft.

The Rockets, who have the second overall pick, are "aggressively pursuing" a trade to acquire the first overall pick from the Detroit Pistons, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

Houston has done "extensive research" on presumptive No. 1 pick Cade Cunningham, Charania added, and apparently they like what they've found.

The Pistons' apparent interest in Cunningham seemed to be let out of the bag when he recently appeared at a Tigers game in Detroit, where he was serenaded with chants of "We want Cade" by the home crowd.

It's unclear if the Pistons would be willing to trade the top pick, and what they would want in return if so.

Both the Pistons and Rockets struggled amid rebuilds last season, finishing last in their respective conferences.

Recent rumblings suggest trade action could be a factor early in the draft, with one report indicating the Cleveland Cavaliers had received multiple offers for their third overall pick.
