CHICAGO (670 The Score) -- Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields suffered a ribs injury during his team's 16-13 loss to the Ravens on Sunday at Soldier Field. His status moving forward is uncertain.
In the immediate aftermath of the game, Bears coach Matt Nagy didn't have information on the extent of Fields' injury or whether he suffered a fracture. It was unclear how Fields suffered the injury. Veteran backup Andy Dalton took over at quarterback in the third quarter.
Fields was briefly evaluated for an injury on the Bears' sideline before departing for the locker room. Dalton entered the game, quickly throwing a 60-yard touchdown pass to receiver Darnell Mooney on a bubble screen to give Chicago a 7-6 lead.
Dalton started the team's first two games of the season. He went 11-of-23 for 203 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Fields was 4-of-11 for 79 yards before leaving with the injury.
Chicago (3-7) plays at Detroit on Thursday. Nagy indicated the team needs to process Fields' injury before determining who would start that game.
