"My heart goes out to the family and friends of my former teammate Glenn Foster," the future Hall of Famer said Tuesday on Instagram. "I’ll always remember his smile and positive nature."

Foster, who played in New Orleans for one season, died while in the hands of police on December 6 -- just two days after he was initially arrested on charges of reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and attempting to elude.

Foster and Brees played alongside each other in the 2013-2014 season, recording 3 sacks in 17 games.

The details surrounding Foster's death are still unclear. Some of the other former NFL players that spoke on Foster's death include ex-teammate Terron Armstead, who said, "I really can't find the words to properly express. Rest In Peace Glenn Foster, you’ll be missed bro!"

Packers linebacker Whitney Mercilus -- who played with Foster at Illinois --shared his condolences on his Instagram, saying, "R.I.P brotha 🖤🙏🏾"
