Perhaps one day we'll get the full story of what caused Carson Wentz's final season in Philadelphia to be so disastrous. For now, we'll just have to settle for a statement from the former No. 2 overall pick reflecting on his turbulent five-season run with the Eagles.
A day after being traded to the Indianapolis Colts, Wentz released the following statement on Instagram:
Wentz, 28, was dealt for a 2021 third-round pick and a 2022 conditional second-round pick that can become a first-round pick.
The one-time Pro Bowl quarterback will be reunited with former offensive coordinator Frank Reich in Indianapolis. If Wentz is able to revive his career, the Colts would likely be a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
