Allen Robinson is arguably the best wide receiver on the free agent market this offseason — if he is not placed on the franchise tag by the Chicago Bears.

But if he does hit free agency, the 27-year-old seems to have his eyes on one team in particular: the New York Jets.

On Tuesday, Robinson liked multiple tweets about him joining Gang Green in New York — sending alarms throughout both the Jets and Bears fan bases.

The tweets Robinson liked included one about the significant cap space the Jets have to pursue free agents, a fan photoshopping both Robinson and quarterback Deshaun Watson as Jets and a scenario in which the Jets acquire Robinson via a tag-and-trade with the Bears.

Robinson is looking for a long-term deal and wants to be paid. If the Jets are among the teams in best position to give him the best contract possible, of course he is going to look toward them as a potential option.

Bears GM Ryan Pace said on Wednesday that he “loves” Robinson and that he is a great player who the team wants back.

Robinson is coming off a season in which he posted a career-high 102 receptions for 1,250 yards and six touchdowns, but extension talks with the Bears have stalled since September.

The franchise tag is one of the options the Bears could use to bring Robinson back next year, but Pace was non-committal toward using it.

The Jets would be an intriguing landing spot for Robinson. They have a new head coach in Robert Saleh but the team still must figure out its quarterback situation and whether or not it will be Sam Darnold.

Regardless who their quarterback is, having Robinson as a receiver in the offense would be an incredible weapon to have.
