Jags fans bought wedding gifts for Trevor Lawrence after finding registry

A group of Jacksonville Jaguars fans are apparently doing all they can to see Trevor Lawrence succeeds both on and off the field.

A collection of Jaguars diehards reportedly came across Lawrence's wedding registry, and proceeded to purchase a couple items for the former Clemson star and his new bride as a gesture of goodwill.

The generous Jags supporters, who are hoping their team selects Lawrence first overall at this month's Draft, quickly pooled their funds to buy the Lawrences a fancy toaster and a vacuum cleaner, according to Sports Illustrated.

The well-wishers far exceeded their fundraising goal and were left with several thousand dollars in excess donations, the report said, so they voted to donate the surplus funds to charity, and were reaching out to Lawrence's reps to have it earmarked for a cause of his choosing.

Lawrence, 21, exchanged vows with his high school sweetheart, Marissa Mowry, in South Carolina on Saturday. She later posted a series of photos from the occasion, with Lawrence looking all smiles.

Lawrence is all but certain to be selected first overall by the Jaguars in the upcoming NFL Draft, capping one of the most touted and closely scrutinized amateur careers in recent memory.

In Jacksonville, Lawrence will be paired with former standout college coach Urban Meyer, who is tasked with resuscitating a franchise in the throes of yet another rebuild.

The Jags' loyal fanbase may be relatively small -- and certainly starved of a winner -- but they're active and organized on social media.

One of the fans who led the gift drive for the Lawrences has previously raised funds for more civic-minded causes, such as a textbook drive for a local school, the report said.
