EASTLAKE, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Odell Beckham Jr.’s surgically repaired knee is ready for some football.

His softball swing is still being workshopped.

Beckham made his first appearance on a field of any kind in Cleveland since suffering a torn ACL last October at Cincinnati Saturday afternoon at Classic Park for Jarvis Landry’s celebrity softball game and home run derby.

Beckham joined Landry and multiple other Browns skill players in Austin, Texas for workouts with quarterback Baker Mayfield last week where he surprised Landry with his recovery.

“Man, he looked amazing. I can’t wait for you guys to see him. I can’t wait for him to get back out there,” Landry said prior to the charity event that drew 7,000 fans. “He’s in fantastic shape and he’s ready to go. He’s only what, 6 1/2 months and he’s already doing some things that will blow your mind away.”

Beckham didn't leave the yard during home run derby. He took the mound and pitched the first three innings before moving to shortstop for Landry's team Saturday.

Beckham has worked tirelessly this offseason to prepare himself for his third season with the Browns after his first two were limited and then cut short by injuries.

“I don't expect nothing less from Odell,” Landry said. “That's his character and that's who he is. He's a guy who's always going to train hard and be prepared.”

In Austin, It didn't take Landry long to see that Beckham was ready to go.

“He ran post route, sticking off the same injured leg and exploding out of it, then going up, jumping off that same leg and making a catch, doing his thing -- what he does with one hand,” Landry said. “You sit back and you're like, 'Wait. He's even better than he was last year. So it's going to be amazing to see as time [goes on] and the further he gets away from surgery how much better he's going to get.”
