Shortly after he finished serving as the grim reaper to the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes made sure to find Josh Allen and congratulate him on his performance in one of the great playoff games in NFL history.

In fact, after Mahomes connected with Travis Kelce for a game-winning touchdown pass in overtime, he paused his celebration specifically to find Allen and embrace with him:

You can certainly count any superior playoff duels between great quarterbacks on one hand, if they exist at all.

In what turned out to be a losing effort, Allen completed 27 of 37 pass attempts for four touchdowns. He also led the Bills with 68 rushing yards.

Meanwhile, Mahomes connected on 33 of his 44 pass attempts, for 378 yards and three touchdown passes. Like Allen, he was his team's leading rusher with 69 yards on seven carries. Mahomes also ran for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Mahomes is now 2-0 against Allen in the postseason, but we've seen enough from both quarterbacks to believe that this could turn into one of the great rivalries the game has seen.
