Julian Edelman was not spotted at the start of Patriots practice Thursday and it's related to his injured knee that has bothered him all season.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Edelman had a precautionary standard knee procedure expected to sideline Edelman for “some period of time.”
The 34-year-old has been on the injury report all year with a knee injury, which has seemed to impact him more and more of late. He has eight catches in his last four games combined.
Edelman is not the only injured Patriots receiver, as N'Keal Harry missed his second straight day of practice with a concussion suffered against the 49ers. It seems more likely than not these two players will miss Sunday's game against the Bills.
The Patriots' healthy receivers on the 53-man roster are Damiere Byrd, Gunner Olszewski and Jakobi Meyers, and then there's Isaiah Zuber, Mason Kinsey and Kristian Wilkerson on the practice squad.
