New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton is a married man once again.
The longtime football coach was set to wed his fiancee, Skylene Montgomery, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Friday, according to NOLA.com.
The couple became engaged in late 2019, not long before the pandemic took hold in the US, the report said, and were originally set to tie the knot earlier this year, though plans were pushed back. Scene photos showed Payton proposing on bended knee at a large gathering organized by Saints owner Gayle Benson.
Montgomery, 36, a former beauty queen, was Miss West Virginia in 2008, according to NOLA.com's Luke Johnson. The couple met at a Saints-Panthers game while Montgomery was working as a nurse in Charlotte, the story said.
Payton, 57, was previously married to Beth Shuey, with whom he has two adult children. The couple filed for divorce in 2012, citing irreconcilable differences, while Payton was serving his suspension for his role in the Saints' Bountygate scandal.
