Tim Tebow has been on the Jaguars for only one day, but his jersey is already the hottest-selling item around the league.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, each of the top five selling items on the NFL Shop website on Friday were Tebow items. These included his No. 85 jersey in men’s, women’s and youth sizes, as well as a men’s and women’s T-shirt with his name and number.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars’ actual quarterback — No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence — ranked 12th on the list while Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields had the next three best-selling jerseys after Tebow, per the New York Post.
Following Fields was Tom Brady, Eagles rookie receiver DeVonta Smith and 49ers rookie quarterback Trey Lance.
While fans are rushing to purchase Tebow Jaguars jerseys, there is no guarantee he will even be on the roster after training camp. He will compete for a spot on the team at tight end — where the former quarterback will play for the first time in his career.
Yet, the jersey sales are further proof that Tebowmania is indeed real and that his persona transcends whatever it is he does on the field.
