Urban Meyer is off to a rough start as head coach of the Jaguars, but it's his home decor that prompted bewilderment from users on social media on Friday.
The strange episode unfolded when a local reporter posted photos from an exclusive look inside Chez Meyer, the Jacksonville house which the veteran coach and his family reportedly purchased for a cool $2.15 million in April.
Among the series of otherwise unremarkable pictures from the house was a shot of the Meyer family coffee table, which apparently serves as a stand for framed photos rather than as a surface for resting food, drink and glossy magazines.
In the picture in question, the glass-top table is jam-packed with family photos -- including one in a Carnival Cruise Line frame -- as well as a lone, sad-looking house plant.
Lest there were any confusion about who was responsible for the seemingly unusual display, Meyer's wife, Shelley, said Meyer had personally set out each photo himself, according to the local reporter, Jeannie Blaylock of First Coast News in Jacksonville.
Sports Twitter was quick to respond with all manner of jokes, while some criticized the house tour as a puff piece that seemed to whitewash some of the troubling aspects of Meyer's checkered past.
The house tour comes just days after Meyer said there was "no chance" he would be taking over as head coach at USC, following the dismissal of former coach Clay Helton. The whispers came amid reports that some Jaguars players were less than thrilled with Meyer's coaching style early on.
Of course, the jokesters on social media had to touch on those developments.
