Sunday in Cleveland was supposed to be a homecoming of sorts for Washington’s top draft pick Chase Young, but the former Ohio State Buckeye’s day ended in the first half due to injury.
Washington Football lost Young and fellow top defensive lineman Matt Ioannidis in the early goings of Week 3 vs the Browns. Ioannidis was ruled out first with an arm injury before Young limped off and was ruled out with a groin injury.
In addition to missing their production, Washington will also be shorthanded as in Week 2, Young played over 70 percent of defensive snaps and Ioannidis over 50.
In the Browns’ next drive after Washington lost their top two linemen, they scored a touchdown to take the lead 10-7.
The day started with Young’s family cheering, excited to see him play in-person for the first time in the NFL, but there was no Hollywood ending for Young.
