Patrick Mahomes is making his opinion on Dak Prescott very clear. Ahead of the Chiefs' highly-anticipated Week 11 matchup against the Cowboys, Mahomes praised Prescott calling the Dallas signal-caller 'a tremendous leader.'
Per a report from Cowboys beat reporter Jon Machota, here's a little bit more of what Mahomes had to say:
“He’s a tremendous leader," Mahomes said. "He’s been a starter in the league for a long time now, he’s athletic, you can see that by the way he played in college and he can make a lot of big-time throws.”
The Chiefs enter Sunday's matchup ranked 1st in the AFC West, but the Cowboys certainly pose a threat. Mahomes agrees, as he also praised Dallas' explosive offense.
“They have a great offense over there, they have a great team over there. It will be a great challenge for us to go up against them this week.”
Prescott is a big reason for the Cowboys' success this season on offense--leading the NFL in completion percentage at 70.3% and captaining the league's No. 1 offense in terms of yards and scoring. Despite some early-season struggles, Mahomes has led the Chiefs’ to a resurgence and brought them back to first place in their division. Mahomes leads the NFL in passing yards with 2,940 and is second in touchdown passes with 25.
Kansas City's defense won't be the only unit that will be tested Sunday. The Cowboys' have made great leaps on the defensive side of the ball and are ranked 10th in scoring defense.
While the praise Mahomes is giving Prescott is a nice gesture, Mahomes is looking to lead the Chiefs to their fourth straight victory and to solidify their position in the AFC.
