HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Last week the Astros saw Jose Altuve and Max Stassi return from the Injured List, on Tuesday, the team announced George Springer and Collin McHugh have done the same.
Springer hasn't played since he suffered a grade-2 strain of his left hamstring May 24 against the Boston Red Sox. He missed the four games prior to that due to a left hamstring strain as well. He was batting .308 with 17 home runs and 43 runs batted in before the injury.
Right elbow discomfort has kept McHugh off the field since May 14. He started the season in the starting rotation, but after a 1.96 ERA in his first four outing, McHugh was removed from the rotation afte going 0-3 with a 12.00 ERA his next four. The rigthy has allowed one run in 3.2 innings as a reliever.
In order to make room on the 25-man roster, the Astros optioned pitchers Reymin Guduan and Rogelio Armenteros to AAA Round Rock.
