HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- The Astros called up catcher Garrett Stubbs from AAA Round Rock after placing catcher Max Stassi on the 10-day IL before Sunday's game against the Boston Red Sox at Minute Maid Park.

Stassi left Saturday's game against the Red Sox in the fifth inning after grounding out to shortstop to end the fourth. The Astros diagnosed him with left knee soreness.

Stubbs, the Astros 8th round draft pick in 2015, is rated as the Astros 12th best prospect by MLB.com. He was batting .250 with four home runs and seven RBI in 28 games with Round Rock this season. Astros manager A.J. Hinch said he's available to play Sunday, which is his 26th birthday, but he will start Tuesday when the Astros host the Chicago Cubs.
