(SportsRadio 610) -- Still awaiting COVID-19 test results from last week, the Astros canceled their summer camp workouts Monday.

Houston joined the Washington Nationals, who also haven't received their test results from last week, in shutting down workouts for the day. The Oakland Athletics could do the same, depending on whether their results from Friday are processed and returned Monday.

The Astros started workouts Friday and continued through the weekend. Major League Baseball's operations manual requires testing every other day, but the players were only tested Friday and not Saturday or Sunday.

They were without last year's American League Rookie of the Year Yordan Alvarez and presumed starting pitcher Jose Urquidy, who both missed workouts for undisclosed reasons.

Catcher Martin Maldonado noted on Twitter that it's "Monday and still no results from Friday, we are getting tested today but haven't gotten the results from my last one."
