Houston (SPORTSRADIO 610) - The Astros are on another strong win streak. After winning ten in a row in April, the Astros are in the midst of an eight-game win streak. During this latest streak, the Astros lineup has eight players with on-base plus slugging percentages above .900.

Houston's run differential is at +87 which leads all of baseball by far, the next closest team is Tampa Bay at +62. In the last eight games, the Astros have had just one game with a hard-hit percentage under 30. The Astros season batting average is .282 compared to the Major League average of .253, and five Astros are batting over .300.

More impressive is that just two players have on-base percentages under .300. Aledmys Diaz is at .299 and Max Stassi's is just .184, though Stassi still does not have 50 plate appearances. The MLB average chase percentage on balls out of the strike zone is 28.1%, and the Astros boast great plate discipline under the league average at 25.1%.

Houston will look to extend their win streak to nine games in Boston Friday night. The next game at Minute Maid Park is Monday, May 20th against the White Sox which opens up a ten-game home stand. The Red Sox and Cubs will also visit the Astros during that stretch.
