It all began with George Springer's fourth leadoff home run of the season, which leads all of baseball, and was the 28th of his career. A five-run third inning had the entire lineup come to the plate, and also back-to-back home runs from Michael Brantley and Carlos Correa. It was the third set of back-to-back home runs this season for the Astros.
Brantley would homer again in the fourth inning for the fifth multi-home run game of his career. Carlos Correa was the fourth home run of the night, and Josh Reddick and Yuli Gurriel each had two-hit evenings as well. In all, the lineup totaled eleven base knocks.
Brad Peacock had a strong performance allowing just three hits and a total of six base runners. He also set a career-high with twelve strikeouts. Prior to the game his earned run average was 5.28, and it fell to 4.30.
