(SportsRadio 610) -- One Astros player who has been working out at the team complex in West Palm Beach, Florida has tested positive for COVID-19, general manager James Click said Friday.
The player, who was not identified, experienced minor symptoms and is recovering well, according to the team.
The Astros informed Major League Baseball of the positive test and said they implemented health and safety protocols
"The safety of our staff and players remains our top priority," Click said in a statement. "We were fortunate to be able to take swift action once we learned of the player testing positive and we are pleased that there were no other players that tested positive."
It was also reported five players for the Philadelphia Phillies tested positive for COVID-19.
MLB team owners and players are still in the process of negotiating a deal that would resume the 2020 season, which was suspended during spring training due to the coronavirus pandemic.
