HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) – Bob McNair will be inducted into the Texans' Ring of Honor as part of the Founder's Day celebration during halftime of Sunday's game against Atlanta.
"On Sunday, we're going to put Bob McNair in the Ring of Honor. That's going to be a great day for the McNair Family and for the Houston Texans. Bob did so much for this city, did so much bringing pro football back to this city. He was a caring man, very honest man, he was somebody I learned a lot from over the years, and we miss him every day. Sunday will be a great way of honoring him, honoring his name and putting him in the Ring of Honor Forever. That's where his name deserves to be," Texans head coach Bill O'Brien said Wednesday.
The Oct. 6 date is significant to the Texans' franchise as it will mark 20 years to the day that the NFL named Houston as the NFL's 32nd franchise.
McNair passed away Nov. 23, 2018 at the age of 81-years-old, and will join Andre Johnson in the Texans' Ring of Honor.
