HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Astros third baseman Alex Bregman says he is day-to-day after a strained right hamstring forced him out of the Astros 6-3 win over the New York Yankees Tuesday night at Minute Maid Park.
The injury occurred when Bregman advanced to second on defensive indifference. He immediately started walking towards the Astros dugout with manager A.J. Hinch and Astros assistant trainer Lee Meyer.
Bregman said he hopes the injury will keep him out just one game, but Astros centerfielder George Springer says Bregman should take his time.
"It's very, very early. He doesn't need to try to be the hero, so I'm gonna say the same thing: be smart, take your time, and comeback whenever you're 100 percent."
The Astros third baseman finished 1-for-4 Tuesday and is batting .341 so far this season.
