HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Astros pitcher Gerrit Cole says he expects to start against the Detroit Tigers Thursday night after fielding groundballs and throwing a bullpen session Monday.
Cole was scratched from his start last Wednesday against the Chicago White Sox due to right hamstring discomfort.
"Everything was feeling good, feeling normal," Cole said of his bullpen Monday.
Cole, an All Star this season, is 14-5 this season in 25 starts with a 2.87 ERA. His is second in Major League Baseball with 226 strikeouts, two behind teammate Justin Verlander in 13 fewer innings.
