Mike D'Antoni On Rockets' Chances: 'We Can Beat Anybody There'

(SportsRadio 610) -- The Rockets are a popular sleeper pick around the NBA.

Former Celtics champions Kendrick Perkins and Brian Scalabrine have been on RADIO.COM and other places touting the Rockets' as a team that can make noise in Orlando.

That small ball, man. It's catching on.

But not only is it the schematic approach, but there's a growing belief that if James Harden is locked in -- no real partying and blowing racks at strip clubs as he's known to do -- then NBA fans could see the Rockets' superstar at his best.

"It's all James Harden," Scalabrine told Clint Stoerner and The Show on Tuesday. "I feel like a lot of his playoff lapses have to do with the fatigue. He's been an 82-game or 81-game a year guy. ... I think for the Rockets, all eyes are going to be on James Harden. If he's in shape -- because of the Orlando bubble, let's say the travel and all the media requests, the escapades at the strip clubs that he's not going to be allowed to go to, if you take all of that into account -- this should be James Harden's best playoff run."

Head coach Mike D'Antoni told reporters Wednesday that he doesn't want to put everything on Harden and Russell Westbrook, two of the game's best players, but he feels like they can beat any team at the Orlando bubble with them leading the way.

"We can beat anybody there, without a doubt," D'Antoni said. "It should be a great challenge. It should be fun. It should be fun for the fans. I'm excited. I'm excited about getting back to work.

"Right now, our focus is getting everybody able to go full-speed when we get to Orlando, make sure they're healthy and ready to work. I think we're accomplishing that and so it's going to be a heck of a journey. It's going to be fun. The first time ever and hopefully the last time ever in the NBA to have anyone to experience this."
