HOUSTON (SPORTSRADIO 610) - This Saturday against the Colts, Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins will be playing for much more than just the chance at another playoff game. He'll be playing in honor of something bigger than football.
On Thursday, Hopkins pledged his playoff check to the family of Jazmine Barnes, the 7 year old little girl who was shot and killed by an unknown gunman that police are still searching for.

When I see Jazmine Barnes' face, I see my own daughter. I'm pledging my playoff check this week to help her family with funeral costs and to support @shaunking @SherriffED_HCSO @SylvesterTurner in bringing this man to justice. Hopkins is next in the line of thousands of people who have pledged their support and sentiments to the family. There are many celebrities who have joined the effort to help find the person who killed Barnes as he opened fire on the family car.

On Wednesday, Hopkins was asked about the on and off the field issues of other receivers in the league, and how he stays out of the negative light, "I can’t be a distraction to this team. My name is all I have, so I don’t want that to be messed up from a game of football," he said.

The Texans will play the Colts this Saturday.
